
Granadilla Junior Tournament claimed off the best tournament in Bulldogs basketball short history so far, setting a record of 4-0 in the event. It was also the program’s second appearance in an international Tournament after its first appearance in December 2022 during the GlobalJam Gran Canaria.
In the lead up to the final, the Bulldogs opened with a convincing win over African Team, 56-76. In the second Game of the Tournament, the Bulldogs defeated Lenovo Tenerife with a resounding 43-79 that left the Tenerife team no choice. Already in the semifinal game, the game against the ACB Baxi Manresa was a tough test that was resolved with great solvency with a superiority reflected in the final score 108-73. In the championship game, the Bulldogs overcome a 20-point third quarter deficit against MOG Basketball from Germany Academy in a thriller, 69-62. The trio Konare – Skutelnyk – Franceschi put the finisher on Joel Freeland Academy with a monster dunk with only five seconds remaining.
Guard Kyrylo Skutelnyk (6´4” from Ukraine – Class of 2023), the Bulldogs’ leading scorerin the Championship game with 17 points, added another 13 points and seven assists against the Baxi Manresa in the Semifinal Game where Moussa Konare and Haydn Ling (7´2” from UK – Class of 2023) dominated the paint with a combined 44 points and 21 rebounds between them.
The team made history by having two players selected in the Best 5 of the Tournament with Moussa Konare (6´10” from Mali – class of 2024) and Giorgio Franceschi (6´5” from italy – class of 2024) representing the Bulldogs
