JFA Senior Team Wins in Season Opener Game
The Telde Joel Freeland Academy Bulldogs Senior Team opened their season with a 46-68 win over the Santa Lucía Suresanta in Vecindario, Gran Canaria.
The Bulldogs never trailed, jumping out to a 13-12 deficit. JFA then ballooned their lead to 21-28 at the break.
Santa Lucia was unable to close the gap in the third quarter, with a 0-8 JFA run that increased the Bulldogs’ lead to 29-44. The lead was cut to 12 points on two occasions, but three-pointers by Kike Vidal and Fran Peña sealed the game.
Haydn Ling led the Bulldogs offensively with 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting, pulled down 18 rebounds and 3 Blocks. Vidal added 15 points, 5 boards and 6 assists, while Peña finished with 13 points, 5 boards and 2 Blocks.
